Spring has definitely sprung new life into the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) market.
With only one more month before Summer kicks in, buyers are eager to get a deal done to capitalise on the Summer trade and Vendor’s are ready to hang up their hats to enjoy a well-earned break.
People are currently more confident in SME businesses than other investments such as the stock market which had a huge fall in October; More specifically, listed Superfunds lost more in October than they made in the entire September quarter. Buyer / Investor sentiment still remains extremely strong though, despite banks tightening up on lending and the current stock market. What we are seeing however is a lot of people beginning to use their Superannuation for purchasing these business investment opportunities which can provide them with significant tax benefits as well as greater returns.

So what does this mean?
Often we get asked, is it a Buyers or a Seller’s market, well fortunately at this time of year, it’s both! Ultimately this means that Vendor’s are more likely to consider all reasonable offers for their businesses, which also means more deals concluded and provides Buyers with a greater chance to achieve their dreams of getting into that ideal business.

In addition to our September success, we have had three offers accepted in October and locked in several new exciting opportunities that will be coming on board in early November.
